Hi all help! I am not sure if I was unreasonable please let me know if I am!!
I picked up our 8 month old today and he was dressed in only a t shirt and bottoms. No jumper or jacket that we sent him in with. The jacket had gone missing presumably home with someone else and his jumper had gotten wet but I had spares in his bag.
To be honest I was annoyed and probably didn't conceal it too well but I didn't say anything too bad I don't think 😱 (just oh where is the jacket I think that might be the second one thats gone missing and oh its a bit cold for just a tshirt) but I feel a bit shit I also have resting bitch face so I think theyd know I was pissed off. Its just that he was left with not much on plus losing the jacket (a previous coat and hat have gone missing). To be fair he has a eczema flair up so they mentioned taking of the jumper as they thought it was irritating him but it was just a cotton one.
Aaah well not the biggest problem I know.

Aww did his coat have a name label in? Maybe try that if not.

They shouldn't be losing his things, that's not on and they need to sort that out. If he was indoors and it was warm though, I wouldn't be worried about him being in just a t-shirt and bottoms. If it bothers you, I'd suggest you always put a button-up vest under his other clothes so you know he won't get cold if he's left in just a t-shirt as he'll at least have the vest on underneath.

Label everything. Absolutely everything. If it goes missing it usually gets back eventually! I even label DC’s bags, shoes and tights, lunch boxes and everything gets labelled! Not lost anything yet!

Daycare can be stupidly hot in winter so wouldnt fuss me with just having t shirt on. Would be irritated by coat going missing. I used to buy cheap stuff for daycare and the most cheap bright patterned coat I could find. And marked everything with sharpie

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 13/03/2020 14:12

Label everything.

Weregoingonanadventure · 13/03/2020 14:14

Is everything labelled with his name? If it is then they have no excuse for losing it. Just tell them you need X, Y and Z returned and ask them what their plan is to prevent it happening again.

Label everything. coats etc with the big name labels (the pe kit ones, 1inch or so, in a visible place), the rest with a stamp or sharpie. sticky labels are useless as they can be removed so easily

I think this does happen occasionally with nurseries. I mean their bits go missing but hopefully it’ll get returned when the parents realise it’s not theirs but in terms of the clothing -
Does he have spare vests and tops in his drawer or bag? I usually keep a couple of options for mine in his bag so they can put him in what is most appropriate - it’s usually really hot in nursery’s so I always have a lightweight top as well as thicker one.
If he was indoors playing he was probably warm enough - I hope they’ve apologised for losing the coat though and said they’ll keep looking?

Ineedcoffee2345 · 13/03/2020 15:06

Do you keep a jumper on him at home? I presume he also had a vest under t-shirt?
Creches get very warm. Sounds ott of you i think. I would be pissed over missing jacket but you need to label
