There is always a queue to collect DD from Pre-School. They call one child at a time and sometimes it can take a while. All the parents/carers except one wait patiently.

3 times now (that I have seen this week, I presume he might do this other times too) a parent lets call him Jimmy’s Dad has ignored the line and walked straight in. AIBU to call him out on it next time or raise it as an issue with the staff.

Or should I just ignore it. ( My judgement might be skewed by the fact that Jimmy seems to upset DD -and other kids- by pushing etc.)

That's promising! Please report back and let us know if he gets the message.

Well done OPSmile

Good to clear it up.
If queue isn't visible to staff on the door though, are they going to be able to catch him in the act of he does it this afternoon to be able to reprimand?
You and the other mums in the queue may have to be prepared to speak up and call him out if they can't actually see him do it.

Good news OP, I hope his behavior will be checked from now on, both by staff and parents

PicaK · 11/03/2020 10:17

I'm so glad you went for the softly softly approach.

Love how stuffedpeppers dealt with CF.

Brunelofbrio · 11/03/2020 12:28

Well done to Stuffed Peppers. I’m not sue I can manage the same approach. He is not so very tall but twice the width of me! ( and that’s saying something!)

I will see if the staff deal with it, but if he slips through again I might have to pick him up on it. (Goes to polish best school teacher voice...)

@stuffedpeppers you are the Queen of excellence Flowers

BruceAndNosh · 11/03/2020 13:18

You checked with the staff that there was no valid reason to queue jump. Get some other queuers on board to back you up and speak up this afternoon.
"Jimmy's Dad- We are waiting, please take your place in the queue"

Otherwise the staff have no idea - do they wait until he is at the door and ask "did you queue properly?" He'll just say "yes of course" especially if he arrives and jumps mid collection time.

Deadringer · 11/03/2020 13:57

I hate queue jumpers too. There was one mum who always let her child toddle up the line, then follow her to the top and collect her older child. Very annoying. There is a child in my dd's class who skips to the top of the line every morning, it irks me but it seems such a petty thing to get annoyed about that I don't say anything.

What a pain of a system letting one out at a time.
