Voice in a Million - at Wembley Arena on March 17th, 18th & 19th. A choir of 5000 children on each night.

Website says at the moment - "COVID-19 Update 06/03/2020 The events are currently going ahead"

AIBU to think they should have postponed this already??? (perhaps some schools have already decided not to send their choirs?)

YABU - they will only postpone if the government move onto stage 2 of their plans.

If you have suspected Covid-19, you avoid public events like this (like you should with any infectious disease).
If you're high risk, you avoid public events like this as a precaution if you so desire.

Problem is symptoms of COVID-19 can be very mild in children - just like a common cold. So parents may send kids along without realising they have it.

I know two schools that are going and I have also being wondering if they will cancel. As well as partly hoping because I don’t want to go!!!

Well turns out I was not being unreasonable.

The organizers announced that it is postponed - earlier today BEFORE the government announced moving to the next stage of their plans (which incidentally do not include cancelling things like this).

Just seen people are still voting YABU - even after it's been officially cancelled!!!

People vote after reading your OP, not after reading the whole thread and unless you have a vested interest in this event why would you know it’s been cancelled?

They cancelled a much smaller schools music event last weekend in Manchester.
