Trip to France

Already posted in coronavirus section but didn’t get any replies. So posting here for traffic
I’m supposed to be going to southern France in a few weeks. Flight is booked. Would you still go?? Actually being there isn’t worrying me, but the flight is. Planes are pretty grim at the best of times, circulating the germs!

You've sort of answered your own question if you don't mind me saying.

It's all about your and your family's attitude and approach to risk.

If your risk appetite is high, and you think that you'd rather have your trip regardless as you'd be seething if you didn't go? Then go - the likelihood of infection is still reasonably low.

If however it will prey and prey on your mind to the point of distraction, then you need to stay at home because no matter how you go or how safe you feel, the fear will potentially ruin the trip.

Hope that helps.

Wait and see what the travel advice is nearer the time. We're due to go to Venice in the summer so are waiting to see what the situation is. We're all over 70 so in the vulnerable age group

JustInCaseCakeHappens · 09/03/2020 17:03

I think I'd rather go by train, or drive.

Maybenotanother · 09/03/2020 17:12

God I couldn’t be arsed with driving or getting the train! I’m only going for a few days!
I’m in the mindset of ‘the chances are slim of me catching it’(bit of denial perhaps?!) but I’m also thinking ‘I bet you a tenner that, if I go, I’ll get it and infect my whole family on my return!’
Damn coronabollocks!

No advice but I know the feeling, we're due to go to Disneyland Paris in 2 weeks 😐 We're just going to wait and see. We'll probably go if it's open and there's no advice not to travel.
