To think MNHQ need to have better IP controls on PBP?

Does anyone have a permanent static IP address nowadays?
I don't think there's anything MNHQ can realistically do.

YABU, There isn't really a lot any free, anonymous forum can do to stop trolls joining and posting. There have been multiple breaches of security and as a result I use a VPN, I know I'm not the only one.

How can they ? My isp uses dynamic ip addresses so mine is never the same.

Virgin claim they no longer provide static IPs to residential clients and I doubt they're the only ones.

Your IP address is excruciatingly unimportant in privacy terms.

I'm pretty sure that MN does have IP controls - it certainly did when I first joined. I had two computers which each had its own address. Unusually for the time, I had more than one email address so for a while I had two accounts ('DDsMum, DDsMum2'... it was a long time ago!)

That was then...now IP addresses aren't static plus it's easy to make new email accounts.

There are good reasons why it's important for MN to remain free and anonymous- women in coercive relationships being the most obvious.
