AIBU to think that Peri was robbed?!

OP posts:
ExclamationPerfume · 08/03/2020 20:54

Yes. Perri was too big headed and been dancing all his life. Joe so deserved to win.

Lockheart · 08/03/2020 20:55

I think you should post this in the telly addicts section..

ludothedog · 08/03/2020 20:57

Perrie was the much better skater. Joe's Charlie Chaplin was very good though... ultimately it's a popularity show and Joe is a likeable guy and better known than Perri.

MamaGee09 · 08/03/2020 21:04

Perri was a better skater however he was good from beginning to end, there was no learning curve and no progression . I also find Vanessa quite smug, she always gets paired up with the good, young skaters.

Joe was rubbish to start with, he couldn’t even stand up and his progression was immense. He was a deserved winner who improved week after week. I’m glad he won, his routines always put a smile on my face,

iklboo · 08/03/2020 21:07

Perri was not big headed in the slightest. Far from it. Talented does not equal arrogant.

TheChosenTwo · 08/03/2020 21:09

Well it IS a popularity contest!!
I just posted similar on the thread in telly addicts but ultimately Perri was the better skater and jo had the biggest learning curve.
I was shocked at the results but pleased, I like joe the best, always comes across as being a really down to earth, humble, grateful person.
I too find Vanessa a bit smug but likeable enough!
And it was lovely to see how much it meant to Alex aswell, they made a great couple together and I was glad she made it onto the ice as she’s my favourite of the pro skaters and I was gutted that she wasn’t even going to make it on to the ice after what happened to her former partner.
The public vote went my way (for a bloody change Grin )

Chickychoccyegg · 08/03/2020 21:10

Perri was great from week 1, Joe was rubbish to start with and improved so much, i think they both seem nice guys (never noticed any smugness) both deserved to be in the final in my opinion.

Starlight456 · 08/03/2020 21:13

I voted Perri but am not surprised Joe won

He had a journey.

I do think people assume because he is a great dancer would be a great ice skater.

All three finalists were great

Seetheprettysnowdrops · 08/03/2020 21:17

Why would you start a new thread and not post In telly Addicts. ??

Mary46 · 08/03/2020 21:21

Delighted for Joe when you think of the early weeks on ice. Perri fab too. Joe was great tonight.

keepingbees · 08/03/2020 21:34

Perri was robbed. He wasn't big headed in the slightest, I think he came across as humble and hard working. He might be a dancer but he wasn't a skater and he did progress just not as dramatically as Joe.
Joe's performances were only really good where he acted a part IMO.

Bbq1 · 08/03/2020 22:52

So shocked and gutted that Perri lost. He was totally robbed. Perri performs the best Bolero the judges had ever seen but Joe still wins?! I actually really like Joe and think he deserved to be in the final but it should have been Perri first then Libby then Joe imo. People have obviously voted on the 'journey' that the celeb has been on...

Qwerty543 · 08/03/2020 22:57

Perri's bolero was amazing. And last week's actually had me in tears which is very unusual for me. It was beautiful.

I really thought Perri would win, he was brilliant (and not remotely big headed, I've seen interviews and he was painfully shy and still is to an extent).

Joe is very likeable though and I think that's what got him through. It's a great achievement considering how he was to begin with.

Littlebearstrousers · 09/03/2020 15:15

I've seen a lot of angry posts on this.

He didn't get the votes. If these things annoy people so much, maybe they should avoid Dancing On Ice, Strictly, I'm a Celeb etc

It really doesn't matter anyway. Life goes on and all that....

Bbq1 · 09/03/2020 15:48

It doesn't really matter in the great scheme of things of course not. Nobody is saying it does. It's entertainment though and people are free to voice their opinions. You can watch the shows, enjoy them and then express disappointment at your particular favourite not winning. No harm in that.I haven't seen any angry comments on this thread.

Mia1415 · 09/03/2020 16:35

Perri was amazing, but Joe improved so much. I liked them both.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 09/03/2020 17:05

I think it meant more to Joe to win, because his baseline starting position was far lower than Perri's. On talent alone, Perri would have pissed it. But on journey and popularity, Joe and his photogenic family must have struck more of a chord with the public. I thought Perri would win, he reminded me of Ray (whose surname I forget) who won years ago.

I8toys · 09/03/2020 17:18

I liked both but felt Perri deserved the win as they did things no one else had done before. It was not the normal skated choreographed routine.

Ben should have been in the final however as he was equally as good if not better than both Joe and Libby.

altiara · 09/03/2020 17:23

I wanted to vote for Perri but was watching on +1 😬
But at the end of the day, It’s a popularity contest. And Joe is better known, had a better ‘journey’, is very likeable.
Loved both boleros, great final.
