Okay, please scroll on by if TMI, but I have an upcoming operation to correct a prolapse, a serious one I understand. Obviously I’m not having mesh.

My main questions to those of you in the know are around recovery time. I’ve been told different things by different hospital staff, but would you say 4-6 weeks off work is about right? Same time for no driving? Or does it depend on how you react to eg, the general anaesthetic, and so on, with these times perhaps being worst-case scenarios?

I’m not going to be daft and ignore advice or anything like that. I’m just hunting around for information really.

TIA.

I had an anterior and posterior prolapse repaired in 2013, I was off work for 7 weeks, bed bound the first week. I’d say more likely to be 6 weeks than 4.

Good luck, my repair is still going strong 7 years later!

Wow, ok, thank you very much. I think I’m in denial a little bit as to how it’s going to affect me!
