I'm going to work for 8 hours tomorrow somewhere I've never been before. I don't know the job, I don't know any of the staff and I'm not 100‰ sure on what I'll be expected to do. I suffer with extreme anxiety and I am SO nervous. Any tips? Please make me feel better about this! I'm worried that I'm facing a sleepless night 😔

Is it just for the day? Just do the best you can. No one will expect you to know very much having only just gone there. Good luck.

Firstly make sure you allow plenty of time to get there being in a rush will make you feel 10x worse. Try not to overthink I bet once you’re there it won’t be as bad as what you think it’s just the unknown that’s scary. Good luck!

Long term...lLearn to act.

Seriously, it works. I used to hate meetings, presentations, lots of situations as you describe for the reasons. I dealt with it by treating it as if I was stepping into an acting roll. I even used a different version of my name at work to sort of help me step into character so to speak. That & my grandmother's favourite saying "don't be nervous, just imagine them sitting on the loo" got me through it & I coped well

Short term. Do everything you can to make yourself relax into a good nights sleep, whatever you have to hand. Aromatherapy oils, breathing techniques, chamomile tea, don't over thing. Write your worries on paper under your pillow, it's an old cliche but it actually can help with overthinking. Same with positive affirmations. Remind yourself why the company are sending you. THEY BELIEVE YIU CAN COPE, YOU CAN. Eat a good breakfast, even if you feel nauseous, at least eat a couple of bananas or something nutritious - paint on a smile & remember they are just people, they don't really bite & you & you can always imagine any scary ones sitting on the looGrin
