To be annoyed at Very

I placed an order for a gift on Thursday specifically with Very.co.uk as they said it would be delivered by Saturday. It hasnt arrived and I have just called them to be told that I should allow up to 2 more days for delivery following their 'delivered by' date.

AIBU to think if you give a 'delivered by' date it should be delivered by that date??

I think I'm more annoyed as the reason this present was so last minute is that another one I ordered last week has been delayed on delivery so now it looks like I will be getting two next week plus I need to buy another present today now!

What delivery option did you chose?

Regardless in their T&Cs they probably have a clause that accounts for slight delayed deliveries like this.

Maybe ask for a delivery refund when it arrives, or tell them to cancel the order as you bought it elsewhere

Oh definitely tell the first retailer to cancel the order, they can get their courier to redirect the parcel to sender instead. Saves the faff of you returning it yourself and waiting longer
