To take baby to family Christening

It's my husband's nephew's Christening later today and baby son (4 months) has a cold and has been quite grumpy and not sleeping too well the last couple of nights. Apart from his own Christening (which a lot of people couldn't get to) it's the first big family event since he was born so this will be the first time a lot of the family will have met him since we live a long way away from them.

The christening is about a 2.5 hour drive away and I know he'll sleep in the car so I don't think taking him will upset him at all but with the current worries about coronavirus AIBU to take him in case he passes his cold on? Or do I take him and ask family to look but not touch in case they get it? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Explain he has a cold, most people won't mind. My DS who is 6mo is just getting over a nasty cold. Before going anywhere I was sure to text ahead "me and DS are suffering from a cold, not CV as we have had runny noses. Completely understand if you would rather we stay away," no one minded.

Be sure to take calpol with you in case he gets a temp and be sure to wash your hands as often as you can.

Hope the christening goes well and your LO gets better soon.
