To worry about 80yo DM travelling on train

My DM is supposed to be visiting next week, which involves travelling across the country (UK) by train for nearly 3 hours. These trains are often packed. I'm concerned about Coronavirus, particularly as she's 80. What do you think?
I'm not usually one to get hysterical and think all of the panic buying is getting out of control. Obviously it's up to her, but she's someone who wouldn't cancel even if she was worried.

It’s up to her, isn’t it, assuming she isn’t suffering from an illness that affects her mental capacity. If she doesn’t want to cancel, I suggest you keep your anxieties to yourself and be happy to see her. Smile

It’s likely the trains are going to be less busy than usual right now but tbh my in laws in their 80’s are more if the opinion that something is going to kill them at some point anyway and they’d rather keep going till it does.

Yes, maybe, and she's fully fit. It's just I know she's worried about it because she keeps telling me to be careful. She wouldn't cancel an arrangement, even if she was worried. Iyswim

@inforthelonghaul - sounds very sensible.

Better a swift illness than a long lingering.
