Man on bus

There's a man on the bus I get on almost every day, who for the last few months has given me reason to think he likes the look of me.

The reason I think this is because he looks me straight in the eyes when I'm walking down the aisle to my seat and then I catch him looking round at me sometimes. Also, if I've missed the bus due to last one running late, he looks back at me intently.

I've started smiling at him when I get on the bus now and he smiles back but I think he's extremely shy and I don't think he would ever make the first move in talking to me. The thing is, he is so very handsome and I'm shy to start talking to him too just incase he's not really interested or even single. So wibu to start to talk to him? I don't want to humiliate myself.

If you're smiling at each other it wouldn't hurt to work up to a hello and then one day there will be a reason for a natural conversion to start. I've ended up getting to know a few people who catch the train with me because when it's snowed loads or flooded and trains are cancelled everyone has a moan together or problem- solves together. Start saying, 'morning' and then just wait until there's a natural reason to start up a conversation.

Just smile a bit more perhaps one morning or/and say Good Morning before sitting down .

One of my cousins met her now long time husband on a railway station platform where they commuted, as strangers then of course, from each morning. He plucked up enough courage one morning to ask her , in a subtle manner, if she was married or had a partner . She did not so he invited her for a drink one evening and it went from there.

Oh or , do you have Metro papers where you live, on the buses ?
When I pick up the odd one I note there is a section there where people enquire about fellow commuters they like the look of . I find it fascinating and wish they would somehow do some success stories if anything has come of any such requests.

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement. On Monday I am going to try and make small talk and see how it goes from there. Eeeek! He is so handsome in a rugged way! Just hope he is single!

Just tilt your head in a cool "you alright" sort of way and say "morning"

Go for it!

Start with saying "Morning!" with your smile. Try and sit close enough that he could talk to you if he wanted. Find something to strike up a conversation about. Maybe something in the metro, "have you seen this? It's bonkers!"

@WhentheRabbitsWentWild we do have the metro but I've noticed he doesn't read it.

Every so often he'll glance behind as I usually am sat near the back and the opposite side of the aisle.

Do the old age trick of dropping something as you pass him. Gives him an excuse to give it back to you and start a convo

Give him a little wave next time he glances behind.
