My DD (year 10) has some educational needs and also struggles massively with anxiety.
On the whole, school is really supportive - she has a pupil mentor who has been absolutely brilliant, and a pupil passport and a range of things have been put in place to help her cope - nothing particularly outrageous, just stuff like she has a red time out card for when she feels overwhelmed, teachers are not supposed to ask her to read aloud in class, etc
1 teacher point blank refuses to follow the pupil passport and things have been going from bad to worse. All the other teachers follow the passport without any problems.
The pupil mentor and I have both been trying to address the issues, but have been banging our heads against a brick wall so we decided that I should make a formal complaint.
Sent over the complaint on Monday afternoon and have heard absolutely nothing since
I called school this morning, as I hadn’t heard anything I just wanted to make sure they’d received it and got my head bitten off, told that yes, they had received it but I’d just have to wait
I know it will take time to look into and investigate, but surely it’s not unreasonable to expect a quick “hi, got your email, will look into it” reply?
