No way!
This could be a big game changer for us.

KellyHall · 06/03/2020 09:55

Way!

I saw posters in Tesco for it yesterday too. I was so excited, I had to tell everyone 😁

Is it sad this has made me excited.
Aldi never have enough of a selection. And the fruit and veg never last long at All!
They have no dairy free products.

I hope they follow through on this.

HeyMac · 06/03/2020 09:59

I go to Aldi for super sonic packing.

None of this faffing and commenting on all my shopping. I don't want plastic charity coins to vouchers. I don't want to be in a supermarket. Let me out of there as quickly as possibly please.

forrestgreen · 06/03/2020 10:00

It says it's just it's entry level products. And I like ALDI products generally, don't feel they're entry level.

HeyMac · 06/03/2020 10:01

Also I like that Aldi has less choice- you get round so much quicker than having to choose between 45 types of tinned tomatoes

AlphaHotelFoxtrot · 06/03/2020 10:14

It will be on like for like only, and often things are not an exact match, so won't count..

GiveHerHellFromUs · 06/03/2020 10:35

They're price matching so won't make any difference to the products Aldi don't have Hmm

itsallthedramaMickiloveit · 06/03/2020 10:37

OK. But if they're price matching those products I would choose Tesco because I could at least pick up more. I already split the shop between Aldi and Farmfoods.
I'm not going to do Aldi, Farmfoods and Tesco.

But I would do Tesco and Farmfoods and be happier that I've gotten extra.

strawberrylipgloss · 06/03/2020 10:47

I noticed this when doing my online shop. It's not all products but a are in the right direction imo

toomuchtooold · 06/03/2020 10:50

I am so jealous. I live in Germany, and they're all like this. Sometimes I go over the border to Switzerland just so I don't have to catch my shopping as it's thrown down the belt at me. (And also because German bread is shite.)

Our Aldi has quite a lot of dairy free stuff...an ok size ‘free from’ section includes almond and oat milks, some snack bars, etc.

itsallthedramaMickiloveit · 06/03/2020 11:20

So jealous!
Ours do do the oat milk but it's useless as it isn't fortified with calcium.

Me too! I hate standing in a queue behind someone who wants to tell the cashier about her husband's brother's cat's operation last Tuesday, no, I tell a lie, it was Wednesday because Tuesday was the day we went to see my sister, you know, her with the leg, anyway it's much better now and she's walking again but the doctor told her to be careful, Be Careful! At her time of life! What does he think she does? And the cashier can't listen and scan at the same time. Aldi or scan'n'pack/Smartshop/whatever they call it every time for me, please! Interactions limited to hello, how are you, lovely weather, card please, thank you and goodbye.

And the fruit and veg never last long at All!

I've never found them to be worse than other supermarkets, and better than Sainsburys home delivery. You might have to lift the top box or look at the back of the shelf for things you want to last a while.

Barbararara · 06/03/2020 13:01

I far prefer Aldi’s normal products than Tesco’s cheap products.

And Aldi always have the price correctly and clearly displayed so I can calculate my bill to the penny, which I’ve been grateful for on occasion.

Chillicheese123 · 06/03/2020 13:07

I like the no nonsense approach at Aldi. Chuck in in your trolley and sort it after you’ve paid. I put mine in plastic boxes. I agree with all the people upthread saying the don’t need school vouchers, vouchers for 2p off my next shop, plastic tokens which I won’t bother putting in a slot because I cba, a chat about my day or Anything else !

KellyHall · 06/03/2020 17:20

But now you don't have to queue at all!

You can order from Tesco for home delivery or click and collect with slots from £1.

An awful lot of people find shopping at budget supermarkets stressful but think they have no choice if they're on a tight budget. Now we all have an actual choice.

I hadn't even considered this!
It keeps getting better and better.
