AIBU to ask to call the whole contest off?

How can anyone, anywhere, beat this?

It's awesome isn't it - proper tongue in cheek but actually a cracking song in it's own right.

AlliKaneErikson · 04/03/2020 23:52

I thought I was going to hate it but it’s really catchy actually! I like.

Corneysjazzband · 04/03/2020 23:57

What was that child doing at the start? Couldn't someone have reminded her at least to get her hands the correct way round on the recorder. Then there was the puffing with no technique at all. Just horrifying. That instrument deserved so much better. I think the song was entertainingly mad but honestly I was so traumatised by the recorder abuse at the beginning that I found it hard to focus. Poor recorder.

HardRockHallelujah · 05/03/2020 00:00

I love it but have you heard Lithuania?!?!

mindtheclegs · 05/03/2020 00:55

Oh chill Corney, the whole thing is a parody, but I'm not sure if your response was too? 🤔 No I've not heard the Lithuania one - please share?

It’s fantastic, it’ll do really well!

We’ve got a ballad as per, we’ll be on the right hand side of the board again!

Listened this weekend to a fascinating chat/performance by an uillann piper who was left-handed for music and right-handed for everything else because he had put his hands the wrong way round when he was given a recorder in primary school.

Love it! It's quite Daft Punk/ Manhattan Transfer.

Though I thought Iceland's entry for 2019 was one of the best Eurovision songs ever, so maybe my endorsement should come with an asterix. Smile

It’s genius!

fairydustandpixies · 05/03/2020 03:19

That's fabulous! I love it!! (And wow, that guy is TALL!!)

It's been stuck in my head for days, I love it!

It's funny and sweet and about getting to know your new baby

"The lyrics in Think About Things are some of the most personal I have written. The song is about my little girl who was born in April of last year. I am talking about the feeling you get in the first few days and weeks where you know that you love this person with all your heart even though you don’t really get that much interaction. In the start she doesn’t do so much, so I am very excited to know what she thinks about all kinds of things. Now she is almost 10 months and has become such a character so the lyrics don’t really apply as much anymore, she is starting to let us know what she is thinking."

I've been listening to Belgium's entry and now I'm torn...

AlliKaneErikson · 08/03/2020 10:19

I wondered if the child was told to play the recorder with the hands round the wrong way on purpose (just to annoy us!!).

AgentJohnson · 09/03/2020 00:52

DD played it yesterday (unfortunately we live in the Netherlands and the Dutch take Eurovision very seriously) and I think it would be criminal if it doesn’t win.
