Just here to vent

Sorry I’m just here to vent, my son has really bad eczema has been hospitalised twice in the 3 months because of it. He’s 22 had just started a new job and now they have let him go, they say it’s because of the amount of medication he is on and he isn’t safe to do the job.

He’s quite upset as he was told this could lead to long term work (it was agency work and he has struggled to get a job since he left school at age 18), he was planning to go away with his friends later in the year and now that won’t happen as it will probably be difficult for him to get another job.

My heart breaks for him.

Hi!
I wanted to lend support and maybe hope! My step dad was diagnosed with severe eczema at about 20, has suffered his entire life in and out of hospital. He recently paid privately to see a dermatologist as its not eczema at all! A new course of treatment and a lifetime of suffering is over!! If he has only ever seen GP's etc I would push for a referal or private.

Hope it all works our for him!

He is currently seeing a dermatologist and they have said its definitely eczema. He is so down and depressed about it, he has had allergy tests, skin tests but they don’t know what’s causing it. He has always had eczema but it’s only since he was about 18 that it got worse. He is now on very strong medication for it (methotrexate) and steroids and folic acid and creams. I just feel so sorry for him.
