To eat an Easter egg now?

I’ve just popped into the supermarket to buy a bar of chocolate. A chocolate bar is 90p or, for the princely sum of 75p, I could have an Easter egg, with chocolate bars in it! Obviously I bought one (or two!) but now I’m feeling too guilty to open it! So I’m asking you, wise Mumsnet people, can I eat an Easter egg now?

Yes why not, Chocolate is always good

Pascha · 02/03/2020 15:41

I have would. There's something about the shape of Easter egg chocolate that makes it irresistible.

Auridon4life · 02/03/2020 15:42

I've already eaten my Easter bunny it was the only chocolate in the house! Might have to get an Easter egg from aldi. Me and my mum used to get eggs the day after Easter in the sale:)

Crystal87 · 02/03/2020 15:42

Of course you can. It's just chocolate. Enjoy

Unicornsdosparkle · 02/03/2020 15:43

Me and the DC all had one each yesterday Grin

Elbbob · 02/03/2020 15:44

Yes why not! Smile

mynameiscalypso · 02/03/2020 15:47

Of course! It's good for the economy for people to buy lots of Easter eggs. Or something.

CalmdownJanet · 02/03/2020 16:03

I ate one weeks ago! Go for it, oval shaped chocolate tastes better for some reason

sockittome123 · 02/03/2020 16:07

Definitely do it, I love hollow chocolate! On that subject, I may have a chocolate reindeer left somewhere...

InOtterNews · 02/03/2020 16:08

I've been living off M&S mini eggs since they came out. I'll probably bulk buy so they last beyond Easter Sunday too because they are glorious (and I'm not even a fan of milk chocolate!)

Purplewithred · 02/03/2020 16:09

No! . You cannot eat it before Easter Sunday! What will the neighbours think!

Give it to me for safekeeping, i can promise you it will not trouble you again.

chocolate26 · 02/03/2020 16:10

Definitely eat it 😃

quitecontrary123 · 02/03/2020 16:17

Definitely. Easter eggs are the best chocolate to dip in tea

timeforawine · 02/03/2020 16:19

Yep it's just round chocolate, smash it so it's no longer an egg :-D

PrincessMaryaBolkonskaya · 02/03/2020 16:27

It’s chocolate in a different form. Crack on Grin

DoIStayOrDoIGoNow · 02/03/2020 17:48

I’ve eaten half an Easter egg. I feel so sick, it was worth it!

I've eaten loads of Easter eggs ! Like you say they are only £1 where as some choc bars are 95p. No brainier

Monkeynuts18 · 02/03/2020 19:47

Go ahead! Although I find the problem with Easter eggs is that I eat more chocolate without realising it... because it’s thin and hollow it feels like you’re eating less!

Punkatheart · 02/03/2020 19:49

Yum! I want one now!

Lazypuppy · 02/03/2020 19:50

I do the same, don't buy normal chocolate when for £1.50 i can have an easter egg and a packet of buttons

ParkheadParadise · 02/03/2020 19:53

I shared a Lindt Gold Bunny with dd earlier.
Dd had a ear, I had the rest.

Justonedayatatime11 · 02/03/2020 20:15

I bought 2 earlier... they're currently hiding upstairs in the wardrobe because DH doesn't 'understand' chocolate... I'll have to eat them whilst he's at work!
