First time buyer.
Offer accepted a week ago today.

Mortgage broker sent all the documents off to the bank & were yet to hear back if mortgage has been confirmed (we have the principal)

Solicitor also has all our documents & first payment made.

Nothing from the estate agents since confirming offer accepted & them receiving all our documents.

Memorandum of sale also received & sold sign now up outside the property.

Having never ever done this before is there anything more I need to be doing? Chasing?Calling? or do I now just wait? Will I never hear from the estate agent again?

Ive tried googling but im not sure what questions I need to be asking if any at this stage.

Not hearing anything is generally a good sign, but I'd still be calling the mortgage broker every week just to check things are on track and there's not a query sitting waiting to be answered. Some banks can take weeks to get round to deciding on mortgages so there's not a whole lot to be done in that time unless they come back asking for more documents etc.

There's no real reason for you to deal with the selling agents again (unless you wanted to view the property again perhaps) - they'll send their bills to the seller. Your solicitor should liaise with the seller's solicitor then update you on anything that might need addressed.

Has your solicitor applied for searches yet?

Had a phone call from the estate agents at lunch time chasing for an update as the vendors are chasing them.

I told them exactly what I have put up top on here..

I have also just emailed my solicitor for an update in order to pass onto the vendor.

Still as lost as I was at the start of the last week!

you need confirmation your mortgage has been accepted first, this can sometimes take a week or two. you would then complete searches which can take a couple of weeks to month or 2 depending on the council. I would say this is your solicitors job so you can always go to them. If you are using a conveyancing law firm often these people are very busy and i never used to get a response to emails so call them and keep calling until you get an answer. Some law firms can be a nightmare.
