So tired

I have been awake since 2:22 am either putting ds dummy back in or listening to him shuffle around trying to get comfy/nod off. He'll be ready for a feed in about and hour and I have to get up at 7 to get ready for school run. Dp got up for work about 20 minutes ago and has been up and down stairs since getting up. I'm getting increasingly frustrated because I'm so tired, I just want a couple of hours sleep!!!!! Everything right now is annoying me !!

I've not managed a minute's sleep all night. We were restless until DD's school offer was confirmed just after midnight and I've been wide awake since. I have a day's teaching ahead of me so my alarm is due to go off in 15 mins 😟. Fingers crossed I last the day! Lots of coffee, leave work when the children have gone, then a snuggly night in pjs on the couch is in order!

Flibbledibble · 02/03/2020 06:33

Ohh I have also had the shuffling and spitting dummy out every five minutes, I feel your pain Sad I gave up at 5:00 and got up...at least I get to have a cup of tea in relative peace before the two year old wakes up....

It's awful isn't it!! I hate sleepless nights, when you feel like your the only person in the world awake and desperately want to shut your eyes and drift into the land of nod .... oh how I miss sleep 😴 ha

Assuming you are not single parenting (sorry if you are, no offence intended) but could you sleep in shifts for a while? DP and I do this during teething phases. At least you get a few hours sleep.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 02/03/2020 07:13

I'm with you and ds isn't even here yet! Just cannot do a full night's sleep anymore. Normally up from 1 and will finally get another hour at 5 😩 yanbu

How old are they? Mine was a nightmare for this at around 3/4 months she's much better now she's 7 months and can sleep without it when it falls out 90% of the time. From doing it 50 times a night it's now about 4 times.

OccasionalNachos · 02/03/2020 07:18

I feel you OP. Hope your day isn’t too unbearable. Fresh air and a good lunch as well as coffee will help!

No one told me how noisy babies can be at night when they’re not crying, with all the shuffling and squeaks and snorts. It’s like having a piglet in the room. Looking forward to my coffee once DS has stopped feeding...

Morgan12 · 02/03/2020 07:28

😴😴😴😴😴 @gindaddy away and get a life.

You are not alone OP. My baby is the exact same. He will not lie still for a second some nights and I simply can't sleep through it. And he doesn't sleep unless he is next to me. Ah well, won't last forever. I hope.

popgoesperfection · 02/03/2020 09:08

Yeah I have a dp, I just feel guilty asking him to help when he's working 🙈 they make so much noise don't they @OccasionalNachos he's 12 week, my oldest is almost 5, I'd forgotten how noisy / shuffly they are, don't know how !! Haha just done school run and he's having a nap (in sling and darent move him Confused) so going to have a very strong coffee ☕️ ahh .....
