To make hamburgers with panini bread instead of burger buns?

DH came back from the shop with everything for hamburgers except for the buns.

However, we have three unused Tesco paninis brought over by in-laws this morning.

YANBU = make the burgers

YABU = they will taste all wrong, you absolute arsehole.

Too dense. (The panini bread not OP Grin)

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 01/03/2020 17:24

I would

GordonBennett20 · 01/03/2020 17:25

Sounds good to me! I'll try anything once Grin

randomchap · 01/03/2020 17:25

I'd eat that. It's a great idea.

LeavingTheTable · 01/03/2020 17:26

In fairness, the OP too.

Fucks.

Why would he persist in buying 99% of the ingredients for a meal when a major component is not available?😬

I would and probably a bit of extra sauce / cheese.

LeavingTheTable · 01/03/2020 17:27

Oh no... looks like this culinary experiment is going ahead as DD has got wind of it.

Split them, toast them and never look back. I use panini rolls for loads of things now. They make brilliant croûtons and Welsh rabbit has never been better...

MrsJoshNavidi · 01/03/2020 17:27

Can you not eat the burgers without buns?

But bread is bread, if you really need bread.

BuffaloCauliflower · 01/03/2020 17:27

Cut the burgers into strips, add the cheese and toast them. Extra points if you’ve got a panini press

RhymingRabbit3 · 01/03/2020 17:28

Surely "everything for hamburgers" is just mince and cheese? I would just make something else!

MissRabbitNeedsAHoliday · 01/03/2020 17:29

I would try it! Add sauce and cheese like pp suggested.
I do sometimes put chilli burgers in a pitta with salad and cheese to make them in to a kebab type thing!

LeavingTheTable · 01/03/2020 17:29

The advice about extra cheese is much appreciated. Going to try this.

Who... who suggested a hamburger without bread? Are you trying to murder me?

Danni91 · 01/03/2020 20:22

How was they? Grin

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 01/03/2020 20:24

Can you use them to make a kind of open-topped burger pizza? That could work not drunk, promise

AnyFucker · 01/03/2020 20:25

Yummy

HeresMe · 01/03/2020 20:40

eat burgers without buns I did as a kid. If not use panini.

It's got to be better than the awful brioche that everywhere insists on serving these days.

Give me a burger in a breadcake/barm/roll ect delete as appropriate.

LeavingTheTable · 01/03/2020 21:28

They were quite nice! I put shedloads of cheese and some red onion chutney on them (though DD was concerned they looked healthy).

Perhaps a bit sweet but better than I thought they'd be.
