I am slightly suspicious of the timing of the announcement - on the same day that the Permanent Secretary to the Home Office resigned amid bullying claims by Priti Patel.

Maybe I am just a little cynical. But I do wonder if they were waiting for a time to announce it that could distract from some negative headlines.

Has he shaken off the most recent wife yet? Or was there another girlfriend in line? Surprisingly, Johnson is able to impress me less with every new announcement. And he didn't impress me at all to start with.

Actually chomalungma I think that article is still bashing more than it's fawning - although blaming Labour for criticism of the timing it manages to get in all the important points about the issues Johnson is facing and even says the 'Honeymoon Period' for his Gvt has fizzled out.
