Lovely news for them.

I am slightly suspicious of the timing of the announcement - on the same day that the Permanent Secretary to the Home Office resigned amid bullying claims by Priti Patel.

Maybe I am just a little cynical. But I do wonder if they were waiting for a time to announce it that could distract from some negative headlines.

Are you sure? The way the Beeb described it, I thought the divorce was still underway:

"It will be a third marriage for Mr Johnson - who divorced his first wife and is now estranged from second wife Marina Wheeler.
"Earlier this month, a court heard that the prime minister and Ms Wheeler were preparing to end their marriage after reaching an agreement over money"

From what I read, the financial side of the divorce has been agreed recently, and Marina can now apply for the decree absolute, so technically still married.

It's not as if there hasn't been plenty of speculation - CS hasn't been seen much lately, and when she was photographed there was a lot of "Ooh, is that a bump...?"; getting wheels in motion last week for his divorce; he has clearly been pretty distracted in all his recent televised comments about anything from viruses to floods.

I hope they're equally delighted. CS is 32, not massive time pressure unless she wants a few more children.

His decree absolute didn't come through last week. He and his soon-to-be-divorced wife reached a financial agreement and she is now able to apply for the decree absolute.

He won't/can't confirm how many children he already has.
He is surely a giant among men - what a catch Hmm
Still, I'm sure CS knows what she's getting and is happy with it. I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than be seen in public with him but each to their own I guess.

Spawn of Boris, I was eating my tea when ds told me the news, made me feel a little sick. If she was posting on here we would all be telling her to LTB, two failed marriages, can't remember how many kids he has, numerous affairs, the domestic abuse question, he is still married as well. She needs her head looking at.

I can’t wait for Sir Philip to take down Priti Patel at his tribunal for constructive dismissal.

I feel sorry for Marina Wheeler and his grown-up children. It feels really unseemly for a serving PM to be in an on-off relationship that is recorded to be so volatile. Makes you wonder how much of his mind is actually on his full-time job.

It's not like we aren't paying him plenty. If we had a pregnant female PM she'd still be expected to focus on the job she was being paid to do.

The Daily Mail has been bashing Boris all week about not going to flood hit communities.

Now they are fawning over him and running big articles all about Carrie and him.

And claiming that Labour MPs are cynical about the timing. TBF - it's not just Labour MPs
