To sell me car without a log book??

Advice would be really helpful please!

I sold my car to someone who immediately brought it back as they was not happy with something, as he had filled out the new leper's slip and technically owned if for 5 minutes I have to send the logbook off and get his name out on it, then back to my name - which I have now done. The car was obviously still up for sale so someone else now wants to buy it and take it away immediately, but the log book has not come back yet, what do I do? I don't want to lose the buyer as I need it gone m, but I'm not sure of the implications of me selling it without having the logbook, and me technically being the owner, if he had an accident it would be still he my car, any advice would be great

You can notify DVLA online but you need the info from the log book IIRC

Can I still notify the dvla online if I have sent off the logbook to update the logbook anyway? I'm not sure if I can or not.
