Kids birthday party, part two

AIBU regretting saying yes to a party invitation for my son who is four when I don't know the kids' parents as their son is new to school? I just don't want him to go any more. I shouldn't have said yes. I don't know them from Adam, surely you don't just leave your four year old at someones house you don't know!

Any opinions to offer, just to allow me to check whether I am being unreasonable in my thoughts? Would you eave your child there?

Haha thanks! I'm the worst, saying 'is my post THAT unclear' when it was really unclear.

Part one was somewhere else I posted yesterday, in parties/celebrations, asking about my sons 5th birthday party, never had a party before.
You live and learn eh. I do love wolves.
Thanks again x

And, yes, staying is normal at parties at home until around 6, elsewhere until around 8 or 9.

That is very dependent on your 'circle'.
Not universal at all.

Oh right. So no worries then!

My DD is 4 and goes to loads of parties. Each child had a parent stay every single time. I wouldn't be happy to drop and run DD yet, she's not ready for that.

My daughter is 7 and won’t stay herself at some parties. The last one was a few close friends in a house so she was fine then. One next week is in a soft play class party, so she asked me to stay. I usually say to a few of her close friends mums I’ll watch there kids too so they can get away. If they have shopping to get or other Young kids. My daughter is so shy she just likes me being there. If you don’t feel comfortable don’t go, or maybe ask the party boy to come to yours for a playmate and if you’ve got him a gift give it to him there.
