I'm not by the way...but neither am i overly anxious about it.
Some of my friends are and are also very against Greta Thunberg etc. So is it possiblook e to be worried about climate change but anti Greta and/ or do you think climate change is baloney?

Given the recent bush fires in Australia i think we should all be aware that we are all at the mercy of our climate, even if we don't think change is man made.

@aurynne
Changes of 2-3 degrees in temperature took about 2-3 million years to occur and 4-5 million years to be "corrected" naturally.

Not true in the slightest. Look at this graph I will post again showing the temperature for the past 400,000 yrs. You will see that quite regularly, the Earth goes from 8C cooler than now to 2C warmer than now in 15-20,000yrs.

Give me the reasons why you are a climate sceptic?

JoshArcher - Greta's family don't make any profit from the sale of their book. It all goes to charity. Her parents were not environmental activists; Greta first learned about climate change at school when she was 8 or 9. And there are plenty of other environmental activists besides Greta.

Thanks but no thanks ghost for another cherry picked graph that only shows temperature fluctuations for the past 2000yrs. A mere eyeblink and a fraction of a % of the Earths short climate cycle which are what create the Ice Ages. It’s like this climate cycle is hour film and the website (not a scientific one, but a climate activist web site) is only showing one still from the film and claiming that we are not within the parameters of the climate change cycle. When all the evidence spanning the full 400,000 years indicates we ARE 2-3C cooler than it was the last time we were between Ice Ages.

I suppose you don’t even know that they’ve identified at least three different climate cycles of different time lengths with the Ice Age cycle being the shortest. You see, we are also within the larger multi-million year climate cycle that creates a Ice House versus Green House planet climate. But we are over halfway through the Ice House and gradually moving back towards a Green house state (same as what dinosaurs had). So it is to be expected that we’d get a bit warmer between each Ice Age and each Ice Age will get a bit further apart from the next until they stop for a few hundred million years as we enter the Next Greenhouse state.

(Which is a few tens of millions years away and nothing to worry about since humans have only walked the Earth for 3 million years.)

Plan - you're the one with the cherry-picked graphs. Do you think that scientists have never considered that the climate has changed in the past? As Professor Katharine Hayhoe says, "if you don't think humans are the dominant source of warming, you are making a statement that does not have a single factual or scientific leg to stand on."

Jillyhilly · 11/03/2020 10:50

And as climatologist Dr Judith Curry says, climate change is not a clear and present danger.

You could go back and forth with this all day.

What is being pointed out to you GhostsToMonsoon is that the science is not settled and that all scientists are not in agreement about the degree or the impact of AGW.

Ghost to monsoon. You do not know what cherry pick means then. By showing graphs that only show a small select 2,000 years out of the entire 400,000 years, the activists are cherry picking a snap shot in time that matches their work view. My graph shows ALL the data, not a small percentage. Therefore I’m not cherry picking.
