'Hope it's a Girl comments' need some witty replys

I'm pregnant with my 3rd, already have 2 wonderful boys, I'm really really not bothered if we have another boy, after losses etc I'm hoping it's just healthy.
ANYWAY other people must just be assuming we want or are hoping for a girl, constantly getting girl comments and I've just been letting it slip. Not long received a text from a dousing saying 'Congratulations, hopefully it's a girl, we need one in the family'
Need some witty replies because the 'as long as it's healthy' doesn't seem to be cutting it??

Op, I feel your pain. I have two gorgeous boys (hence the username Grin). I am tempted to punch the next person who says to me “so when are you having the next one? Third time lucky, eh?” Angry

Well. We can decide after it's born these days. Or so I'm told.

Although I'm operating the oven the basic ingredients are beyond my control, so we will see if it's a girl or a boy when all is revealed at the end of..."

May work with cake/pizza fans.

Congratulations. I'd make it clear. 'We don't mind, boy or girl is more than fine."

Or why don’t you just admit you would like a girl after having 2 boys 🤷‍♀️

Where the hell did you get that from Wowee?!

I was living abroad when I gave birth to what turned out to be our only child. Our local newsagent, on being told the baby was a girl, said consolingly to my husband: "Don't worry, next time it'll be a boy, Insha Allah."

@wowwe because not everyone feels that way 🤷‍♀️

I wouldn't be trying to be witty.

If I was in your situation they'd probably get a fairly abrupt "and what's wrong with a boy?" or "why?"
Then wait for them to dig themselves out of the hole.

But then again I am really grumpy when it comes to bullshit about boy/girl baby chat.

“Well to be honest, I’m kinda hoping for a dinosaur so we’ll just have to wait and see!” - said in a completely Stone dead tone

I sympathise, I had the same, no one would believe I would be quite happy with another boy. I finally lost it one day with MIL, she kept on and on about having a "nice little girl." I snapped and said, "Are you suggesting my boys aren't nice. What if I have a girl who isn't nice."

I gave her a death stare and she never mentioned it again.

As a mum of two boys, this drives me mad. I've posted about it before, but I was actually asked if I was disappointed when I found out my second was another boy... If you find out at a scan, I would say choose who you tell! Rude.

I had this I've two boys already I got it constant with the oh you will be hoping its a girl this time made me so pissed off I would just bluntly say no we want another boy that shut them up but it is a girl this time and we are over the moon but would have been with another boy as well .

It's weird how everyone thinks this is what people want. I only have sisters and my DH only has brothers, and we always wanted our kids to be same sex! Feels like they are more likely to be closer growing up?

That's probably not true, but I was still surprised that so many people assume you would want one of each.

Sod's law, we have one of each Grin

Just say you're not fussed either way? I'm sure people aren't trying to upset you?

I do agree that often it's people trying to come across like they're interested and there probably isnt much thought behind it.

However my favourite comment about this girl vs boy debate that I came across here on MN a few weeks ago was something along the lines of "I'm not Henry VIII, I dont care what sex my children are"

When I was expecting my 4th after 3 girls I used to get a lot of this. I usually replied that I was hoping for a redhead.
