Respiratory infection - surely not corona?

Just back from family ski trip (not to Italy) and have a respiratory virus - no temperature, but coughing & shortness of breath. I have mild asthma though, so more likely to have these symptoms from a cold anyway. I also had vomming for about 24 hours and felt grim all day yesterday as a result.

Kids had it (not vomming) while we were away and have recovered - they were fine for school yesterday, elderly father still has cough but has been out and about, so obv. not particularly ill.

But this morning I'm reading that symptoms can be mild, and you can be over it in a few days if you are healthy anyway and reading about the school that has closed in Manchester, it just struck me that it might be more than a normal cold. Ski resort was packed with families from all over Europe and self service cafeteria on the slope where we ate every day was heaving.

In two minds as to whether I should do anything? Either way, I just stay in until I'm better anyway, right? I'm 99% certainly being paranoid and it's just a cough.

Feels like the tail end of flu, for context (have had flu vaccine). Using my inhalers a lot.

The advice is to self-isolate for 14 days and call 111.

Isolate and call 111. They are now testing people who have not been to infected countries to see how it’s spreading
