Due to go to carnival today (am not in the uk) due to take toddler Dd, lots of people, big crowd. Some people are posting on Sm they’re not going due to coronavirus, would you go? (We’re not in Italy but are in a tourist place)

Also, the authorities here have started publicly encouraging people to avoid large gatherings. If it was just me, as a healthy fit adult, I would go. But it isn't. I have little children with not great immune systems. So we are staying away.

I would go. Definitely.

WalkingDeadTrainee · 25/02/2020 12:36

We are avoiding it today. Not just because of corona but also because of the ?terrorist incident yesterday near us in Germany.

Ironically, these things and travel etc are the safest right after tragedies like that happen...

ActualHornist · 25/02/2020 12:41

I would with a buggy or sling. I wouldn’t if relying on hand holding or reins.

Portugal is pretty safe and child friendly. No confirmed Coronavirus there yet. I would go.

We went for a quick hour, was still on my mind as a LOT of people there in the crowds.

Just for those who were saying they would still go, the Swiss govt has now banned public gatherings of over 1000 people. www.news.com.au/world/europe/mass-gatherings-cancelled-in-switzerland-as-coronavirus-takes-heavy-toll-on-europe/news-story/3258cac19b8bcd3838fa008fcb563df6
