There was a post on here a while ago where posters were raving about a Revlon one - which one was it? Is it better than the babyliss one? I can’t afford a dyson airwrap but are there any others I should be considering? Thanks!

I'm also wondering about one step. I have a babyliss big hair and would be interested in any differences

Pukkatea · 25/02/2020 09:15

My Babyliss big hair is useless so I am watching with intrigue.

veryveryverytired · 25/02/2020 20:38

I have very fine hair and the Babyliss could never grip it properly. Didn't work well for me. I have the Dyson now which works well. For my hair type though it is shit at curling.

Dontlikeoranges · 25/02/2020 20:44

Had a babyliss big hair twice - hated it! Sold the first one then read given another as a present so thought I'd give it another go and sold that on to.

I've got the Revlon one step dryer/volumiser and it's brilliant. You do need to either blast your hair with a dryer first or leave to dry for a while if your hair is long and thick like mine.

Lucked · 25/02/2020 20:49

I bought the one this week so have only used it once so far. I am a bit underwhelmed.

Good points ate not too expensive and efficient (as it dries hair quickly)

Down side is I am not getting volume, I dried it with heat protection and mousse, I sectioned all my hair and I put dry shampoo in at the end however it was pretty flat, more so than normal I think. I struggle with volume as I have straight hair. I get some volume with a babyliss but it is faddy and slow for daily use.

I think it may work well if your hair tends toward a wave or curl and you want to smooth it.

I bought Problo recently and it's fab. It's removable barrels that you use a hairdryer with but better than any other product I've had for a salon equivalent blow dry.

Hoolihan · 25/02/2020 20:59

I just bought the Babyliss a couple of weeks ago and love it! My hair is so shiny and bouncy. However at the age of 45 this is the first dryer/styler/haircare I've ever owned so I'm probably too easily impressed.

EnglishRain · 25/02/2020 21:01

I've got the babyliss one and it's ace. I went for the extra big barrel though.

AlexaAmbidextra · 26/02/2020 00:50

I’ve had a succession of Babyliss for years. This evening I used my new Revlon for the first time after reading many rave reviews and tbh am a bit disappointed. I found it quite heavy to use in comparison to the Babyliss and needed both hands. The heat controls aren’t in a very user friendly position and I just found the whole thing quite cumbersome to use. I’ll persevere however as I need to become more adept with it but it hasn’t given me the volume I’d have liked. Hopefully with practice I’ll get better results.

veryveryverytired · 26/02/2020 03:40

@Lucked that's quite a lot of product for your hair to take though. I'd try just the heat protection, style, then some volumising hair spray.

cotdottons · 26/02/2020 06:50

How does the Problo work Mummyshark2018? Do the brush heads attach to your own hairdryer and then when you’ve finished that section, do you remove the brush head and clip it on to your hair?

cotdottons · 26/02/2020 06:55

Meant to say do the brush heads attach to your own brush not your own hairdryer?

Inforthelonghaul · 26/02/2020 07:27

I have a babyliss one but it’s the smaller brush as my hair isn’t long. I love it and it makes me look styled for the first time ever but I do have to mostly dry my hair with hairdryer first then just finish it off.

middleager · 26/02/2020 07:31

I have Babyliss Big Hair. I can get volume, but It makes my hair frizzy and feels like it's damaging my fine colour damaged hair even further.

Just returned Dyson Airwrap. It does give volume, but the other tools were no good on my hair.

middleager · 26/02/2020 07:34

I'm back to sticking some large velcro rollers in my hair...

userxx · 26/02/2020 07:36

I bought the revlon one after reading the reviews, git it for half price. It's still in the box 🙈

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 26/02/2020 07:37

I have the babyliss which I love but looking at the revlon also.

Going to look up the problo.

10FrozenFingers · 26/02/2020 07:39

I dry with the Revlon - and it does dry quickly. And finish with Babyliss.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 26/02/2020 07:40

I vaguely remember something like the Problo on Dragons Den, anyone else?

DreamingofSunshine · 26/02/2020 07:41

I've tried all of them but the dyson airwrap is the best for me. I have very fine hair which likes to frizz and it's the only one to reduce the frizz. Shame it's so expensive.

middleager · 26/02/2020 07:45

Dreaming I have fine hair but the Airwrap frizzes my hair no end, sadly.
