Need a hand hold. Possible MS?

I slept last night but not the previous 2 nights with worry as I’m waiting on a scan. Suspected MS.
I am so scared. Can anyone who has been in the same position help me?
Also, if you have MS or know someone who does, which part of the Uk are you in. As I realise it’s often down to lack of vit D and sunlight.
Appreciate this, thanks

You might not get a clear diagnosis from an MRI-brain. You’re understandably finding it really hard to sit with the uncertainty of not knowing. What about just trying to distract yourself by spending some of the £700 treating yourself to some treats and fun activities? Remember that there are several possible explanations for your symptoms including anxiety. Www.neurosymptoms.org.

Hmmmm, it seems unusual that the MRI is of the brain only op. My scans are always full body as I'm guessing they need to look for possible lesions in the spine aswell. Also, I really think your consultant may have alarmed you unnecessarily as there are a whole host of things that could cause those symptoms. In my case, despite a whole range of intermittent symptoms, MS was actually the last thing that was considered/explored. Try not to worry,as a pp said, think about spending the £700 on things to help you relax Flowers

OP - I have a neighbour with Ms and two friends. Live in Scotland interestingly.

My neighbour has bad periods with it but still has a nice life.

My two friends have it but I didn't actually know until I got to know them. One has four kids and is really busy. She does have health issues obviously but she's doing fine. The other has two kids and works and runs and I knew her for about 3 years before she mentioned the MS and I had no idea at all.

Bluesheep- it’s of the brain and spinal cord for the scan

How are you doing op?

My exh has SPMS, he went blind driving to work when I was 7 months pregnant with ds. We ended up paying to see consultant & for the MRI, he was diagnosed on Christmas eve & ds was born 26 January, he had high dose iv steroids & had 4 relapses in a year before being put on Rebif 1a which reduced his relapses to every 14 months. After a massive relapse he was given Alemtuzamab, but this didnt agree with him & put him permanently in a wheelchair. From what I have seen with treatments there seems to be a flavour of the month attitude, everyone is offered one treatment until something new comes out, Rebif was a new treatment when he was diagnosed but now very few patients get it as a first line treatment.

Thanks Blusheep- paying privately for a scan so should be in next week or so. I’m still worried all the time about it but most stories are positive so that’s what I’m holding on to. I’m thankful for being able to talk to folk about it on here.
How are you?

rollon I'm fine, as always thank you. Had my annual appointment with my neurologist last week and he is of the opinion that my disease is " behaving very benignly" and I'm very grateful for that, as I've said before, I know I'm very lucky. There's a quote I read once that means a lot to me which I'll share with you:
" I am not cursed by multiple sclerosis but am blessed with the strength to accept it and carry it with me"

I hope things are ok with you and very best wishes for your scan. Let us know how things go Flowers

Thanks Bluesheep, I will let you know. I’m so glad that you are well, that’s great
