Twitter recently changed their child protection policy to allow paedophiles to state their sexual preferences in their Bios and publicly discuss them on the site. Twitter allows kids as young as 13 to hold accounts and has no way of keeping them safe from these users.
It’s not illegal so police can do nothing (I know because I called 101 about it). The press have written a little about it but hit an impasse.
Consequently I’ve started a campaign and a petition to force Twitter to remove the accounts and improve their safeguarding. Started today online but am also planning on taking this to the streets to raise awareness.
