What do you do with or what do your 5 and 6 year olds do at the weekends?

We have never been to an NT house. Are they actually fun for kids?

Noodledoodledoo · 24/02/2020 20:16

Dylaninthemovies1 really depends on the house. Some we have been to are happy for kids to explore within reason, others not so much. The ones we go to have fab forest play areas for them to explore. We are close to a forest which is NT and has expensive parking so we are members mainly for that - 2 visits a month and we cover our membership!

Now DS would love forest play areas. Bit old houses with lots of lovely antique furniture, not so much

My 5 year old does sports on a Saturday morning. The rest of the weekend is parties, swimming as a family and generally relaxing. Once every 6 weeks or so we visit family.

DD is 5.
Sat morning is swimming lesson.
Sat afternoon we usually head to local shopping centre grab an coffee and cake.
Sun morning either the park or soft play (weather dependant).
Sun afternoon usually chill out at home, catching up on any homework and just tidying up before back to school the following day.

Sports - they both have a sports lesson on Sats, and matches/games.
Park, beach, swimming if it’s rainy, friends over, b’day parties, Nat Trust, family movie at home. Biggish walks- outdoors a lot.
Out on their bikes, scooters.

We get them outside basically, rain or shine.
