To despise breast pads to my very core

What the hell. Second baby, leaky boobs but breast pads are the absolute worst. The reusable ones are sodden by 3am so I wake up damp. The lansinoh ones in the day scrunch up during day feeds so when I clip up my bra I have a sticky sausage in my bra which I then have to try and discretely unravel which in a coffee shop is far from discreet or graceful. Oh and the delight when the adhesive sticks to your nipple. Am I just inept or is this the worst bit of breastfeeding (difficulties, mastitis etc aside)

I used to fold up muslins at night and put them in soft crop too.

It gets a bit better after 3 months, possibly 9 months if you see oversupply though.

If you notice a leak in progress you can stop it by putting pressure on your nipple with the heel of your hand for about ten seconds.

For every woman moaning about leaky breasts and over supply, there’s a poor soul with breast hypoplasia and inadequate milk supply, who feels a failure for having to give up and bottle feed!
Life just ain’t fair.
At least be happy you are managing to feed your babies, and are saving a small fortune on milk powder and sterilising tablets. (Even if you then have to spend it on pads!)

Ugh yes, breastfeeding might be "free" but I spent a fortune on pads and lansinoh. This was a while ago, and reusable pads weren't up to much.

I worked out a system of sleeping in a vest top with muslins down my front. Elegant it ain't, but it was comfortable.

I can recommend getting an incontinence pad or two (quilted absorbent mats, easily washed), I slept with one underneath my chest for a while then when kids are older they can sit on the sofa on them if they're not quite potty trained!

I love my Lily padz when breastfeeding. Lasinoh ones were great at night - they used to be huge and sticky but perhaps they have changed design. I sometimes used fleece then cloth breastpad at night. Honestly most time I just slept on a large bath towel as I'd be soaked through

Babdoc - people are allowed to moan. Get off your high horse Hmm

I leaked loads with my second, I always had a damp patch! Drove me mad!

I used to often stick a Muslin down my bra when feeding!

In the house I used a Hakka to collect the leak which worked brilliantly!
