To think it’s rude of colleagues to ask if I’ve had a boob job?

Just that!
Admittedly my boobs are big- 32H- but yesterday two colleagues from a different team both separately asked me if I’ve had a boob job/ ‘are your tits fake?’.
They’ve always been big! I don’t know why the sudden need to ask, admittedly my dress was tight and my waist is proportionately small to my boobs and hips (hourglass shape).
So Aibu to think it’s rude for people to ask if I’ve had a boob job?

You need to contact HR. That was very inappropriate.

Ponoka7 · 20/02/2020 21:41

I'd agree that it's inappropriate behaviour in the workplace and we shouldn't have to put up with it.

Very different if you have become friendly with someone (especially if the same sex) and they've nicely asked. People assume that my DD has had her lips done, but it's always asked politely and sometimes because they want a recommendation.

vincettenoir · 20/02/2020 21:44

Yes it’s rude. I think it’s a bit different if they asked you down the pub, rather than in the workplace. But still, not appropriate to ask.

GinTonic · 20/02/2020 21:45

WTF, how can you think for a moment you are possibly unreasonable? That's absolutely out of order. Do you work for Vizz magazine, or maybe your company makes carry on films?

Yabadee · 20/02/2020 21:47

At my last job, one of the woman said they knew when I was coming as my boobs came round the corner before I did. I’m a 34jj.

Some people are ass wipes

NearlyGranny · 20/02/2020 21:47

Hmm, the boob job question could at a pinch have been asked politely but never the fake tits one! M or F, the questioners, OP? If we're allowed to distinguish between the two these days...

WineInTheSun · 20/02/2020 22:10

One male, one female.

It was a bit disheartening as I’ve recently lost weight so gone from a 34J to a 32H, I was pleased my boobs looked smaller (to me) and felt less freakish! It was a different team to those I normally work with and colleagues I haven’t met before. If it happens again I will complain to senior memebers

This feels like it's all a stealth brag.

AlexaAmbidextra · 20/02/2020 22:26

Do people really contact HR for something like this? Surely, if it’s an isolated incident you just deal with it yourself at the time? I could understand involving HR if there are multiple instances but surely an adult doesn’t run to HR for a one-off, although impertinent comment?

TheGoogleMum · 20/02/2020 22:30

Yes that's rude. If I was friends (more than just colleagues) with the person I miiiight ask if I noticed a change But tbh I'm so oblivious I doubt I'd notice (and actually I'd probably not feel like I could ask anyway unless we were on a similar subject!). My best friend has very large natural boobs, I know better than to assume they are fake! Maybe the weight loss has accentuated them, but it doesn't make it ok for them to comment.

Newfloorlamp · 20/02/2020 22:30

Don't understand how this could this be seen as a stealth brag. Who would actively want their boobs commented on by their colleagues at work? It's so inappropriate, it would make me feel really uncomfortable. It's basically an announcement they've been looking at your breasts, thinking about them and then thinking it's fine to start a discussion about them.

YANBU. When I was pregnant a lady I work with said to me in the tearoom oh you can notice your boobs are even getting big now. Queue the five other women in the tearoom looking at my chest! was a 34F before I got pregnant so really there was no difference except I was wearing a comfier bra then I normally would. I went back to my old bra the next day! People can be very strange sometimes
