We have only just got Netflix (very late to the party) I’m watching Jane the virgin which is quite good. Any other refs? Also do you get notice when they take things off of Netflix? I don’t want to get partway through something and then they take it down. Anything else I should know?

So many good ones have been mentioned. Netflix is great value for money compared to amazon prime (unless you order loads of stuff) and even the TV licence IMO.

I’m on mat leave and having a bit of a reality telly binge do watching Next in Fashion and Love is Blind.

Brooklyn 99 (very funny cop show)
The Santa Clarita Diet (very funny/ridiculous family horror scenarios)
Sex Education (Brilliant coming-of-age series)
Atypical (Another brilliant coming-of-age series)

Chernobyl is excellent, but it's on NowTV, you can usually get a 1 week free trial and then cancel, so can be binge watched without paying Mr Murdoch.

Iggi999 · 21/02/2020 15:17

Grace and Frankie is my Netflix favourite Smile
Good place
Orphan Black
Russian Doll
Good Girls

MyCatHatesEverybody · 21/02/2020 16:26

buttermilkwaffles Oops I didn't realise that about Chernobyl, thanks for clarifying. They all merge for me!

peachypetite · 21/02/2020 16:27

Money heist/casa de papel was brilliant

Egghead68 · 21/02/2020 16:31

The Windsors is hilarious.

Hingeandbracket · 21/02/2020 16:34

I have read the thread but may have missed it - in case I didn't, Fargo, the TV series - three series, all excellent. One of them has Martin Freeman in and he is so good I was part way through the first episode before I realised it was him.

Penners99 · 21/02/2020 16:38

Altered Carbon
Love, Death and Robots

Feymia · 21/02/2020 16:40

For me, Bojack Horseman is the best show of the last ten years. First half of the first season is a bit of a grind though (just feels like a generic, below-average, adult animated comedy to start).

FlamingoAndJohn · 21/02/2020 16:43

Netflix is that all of the foreign things are dubbed rather than subtitled.

You just need to select the original language and then English subtitles. Mine is set to do that by default.

My recommendation is Kim’s Convenience.

@thecatneuterer not true, I watched casa de papel in Spanish. There is now a dubbed version called moneyheist but i preferred the original and speak Spanish anyway.

Some fabulous documentaries.

The Staircase.
One about Amanda Knox.

Memory failing now but loads on there. Have a poke about.

Tombakersscarf · 21/02/2020 19:04

For me it was the other way, everything was subtitles by default, it was a revelation to find out how to use the dubbed version! (Sometimes I cant read the subtitles)

TheFuzzyStar · 21/02/2020 19:06

Orange is the new black

Needtobepositive · 21/02/2020 20:02

I’ve started the good girls. Only two episodes in as my 8 year old took an interest in what I was watching 😂. Think I may prefer it to Jane the virgin but maybe I just needed a break from it.

For French fans, Call My Agent (Dix pour cent). It's witty with a French star per episode. Light and amusing.

Theworldisfullofgs · 22/02/2020 10:09

The Strangers is great.
