We have only just got Netflix (very late to the party) I’m watching Jane the virgin which is quite good. Any other refs? Also do you get notice when they take things off of Netflix? I don’t want to get partway through something and then they take it down. Anything else I should know?

Jane the virgin is a brilliant choice! The film with Adam sander and Jennifer Anniston mentioned earlier is called Murder Mystery. Also as pp’s have said, Dead to me. That’s a goody 👍 oh and brooklyn nine nine.

There are Facebook groups you can follow which tell you when things are coming to and leaving Netflix. Try this one www.facebook.com/groups/629818214064745/

Also, if you want something a bit lighter:

Somebody Feed Phil (food/travel)
Pick of the Litter (documentary about guide dog puppies)
The Chef's Line (cooking/restaurants)

Needtobepositive · 20/02/2020 18:24

Thanks @squashyhat. Will check that out later.

On the page you click to the pafe has the options down the left hand side for 'play from beginning', 'resume', 'rate', 'add to my list' etc, up near the top under the title and synopisis if a title is going to be removed from Netflix then it says 'availavle until 26th March' (for example).

Butterfly02 · 20/02/2020 18:41

Growingboys · 20/02/2020 18:55

@buttermilkwaffles you have exactly the same taste as me and I've seen all your list bar Virunga so that's tonight sorted!

thecatneuterer · 20/02/2020 19:00

Suits is great. I've tried it three times now. I never manage to get any further than four episodes in. I feel that it's the sort of thing I should like, but I just don't.

I also couldn't get past episode two of: Northern Rescue, You, The Crown, Orange is the new black, Jane the virgin. I did manage to watch all of The Stranger, but it really was a bit shit.

What I find disappointing about Netflix is that all of the foreign things are dubbed rather than subtitled. I much prefer subtitles. Consequently I avoid all the foreign ones, which is a shame as I bet most of them are better than the American stuff.

FlyingWithTheDevil · 20/02/2020 19:06

Fffffffff

SwingoutSisterSledge · 20/02/2020 19:07

Abducted in Plain Sight . I was gobsmacked and couldn't believe what I was watching but it's a true story . Documentry on Netflix.

Iooselipssinkships · 20/02/2020 19:09

The Staircase
Don't f**k with cats
Abducted in plain sight ...

... are all really good documentaries.

AntennaReborn · 20/02/2020 19:23

@thecatneuterer you can choose original version with subtitles in the settings. I watch lots of French and Spanish series and films that way, Netflix is fab for that!

colinthecaterpillars · 20/02/2020 19:32

The crown
The haunting on hill house

eurochick · 20/02/2020 19:36

I watch loads of french stuff as I am trying to pick up my french again. It's definitely not all dubbed. My current series is the Bonfire of Destiny - a drama based around a real fire that happened in Paris. It's pretty well done. The first episode is a tough watch if fire freaks you out at all.

Jeleste · 20/02/2020 19:36

The Sinner (first season)
Dark
The Crown
Money Heist
