Cleaned the house, got the kids ready to go out. And guess what? It’s starts raining 🤬. It was raining yesterday aswell, but once it stopped we went out for a walk and library, really needed to go out for some fresh air buts it’s literally pouring down. And I got shopping coming at 4pm.

How’s everyone doing so far?

My 5 year old did not stop talking for a single minute today, not one! We were making cakes at one point and one teaspoon was talking to other teaspoon thanking it for helping to scrape the mix into the cupcake case. Confused Grin

Other than a particularly exhausting listening experience and lots of rainy windy days it’s actually been nice. We went to the park Monday, cinema Tuesday, at her grans yesterday and cafe, shopping then baking today.

MummySharn · 20/02/2020 19:25

We’ve tried to go out everyday, even to the park. I’m knackered

We'd booked to go glamping ( v nice yurt with wood burning stove, beds etc). It didn't start well due to very extensive flooding in our area and between us and the campsite, but we managed to get there. Monday evening was nice. Tuesday it rained a lot but we managed to get out and walk a couple of times, but then the wind howled and it rained. Wednesday it rained and rained with forecast of hail and sleet for today. We came home yesterday afternoon deciding that enough was enough...

Ds is 6, we've done a bit of baking, had a duvet day, been to a local café for lunch (because I cba making it myself) and been swimming. Going to the museum tomorrow which is by far the most active day this week.

I'm in work over the weekend so the fun is basically over tomorrow

The weather has been appalling here too. There's been very little movement before 10am and lots of lego/painting /playing with toys and games. Far too much screen time.

February half term is just a bit crap really. Cold, wet, miserable, and everyone is knackered.

Blackandgreenteas · 20/02/2020 19:32

I was meant to be working so kids are with my family but I’m ill. So not that chuffed.

LoonyLunaLoo · 20/02/2020 19:35

A bit shit really.
We went out for lunch with my mum on Monday which was nice but then had a freezing walk along the coast which DS (10) seemed to enjoy but I got actual brain freeze despite a think coat, hat and gloves.

We went swimming at our local caravan park on Tuesday as it’s free for us but it was rammed with poor holiday makers who had probably looked forward to their holiday for ages and ended up stuck in an almost flooded holiday camp with nothing to do all week.

We had an eye test, Wetherspoons breakfast and went to the cinema to watch Sonic yesterday which was actually ok.

Today we went to Pizza Hut with friends which was also packed full of people trying to find something to do and a table full of rugby player type lads who stripped the buffet like a plague of locusts. Then it stopped raining and so we had a cold, windy but dry walk/play in the park. DH is out now and DS is at Sea Cadets so I’ve got the house to myself for a few hours and a bag of Aero mini eggs.

Tomorrow we’re going ice skating.

I guess it doesn’t sound that bad when it’s all written down but I have SAD And reynaulds syndrome and am reaching the end of my tether with this weather 🙈.

We start lambing in the next 3 weeks so this half term has been spent getting the sheds ready - dds training has doubled as is usual in the hols so she's been there every day. Been car shopping with ds1 (eek) as he's a couple off days of turning 17. Little 2 have been with dh on the farm and helping me sort the yards.

So all in all a normal Feb half term 😀 just wish it would bloody stop raining!!!

scrivette · 20/02/2020 19:42

It's been so miserable that we have barely been out, but the we all have/are recovering from colds so it's actually been really nice and relaxing. More tv than usual, they have played together lots, baths, baking and went out for ice cream yesterday.
We will probably go out tomorrow as the littlest will be at nursery.

Pipandmum · 20/02/2020 19:44

Ours was last week but it rained then too! Movies, lunch out, day trip to London, chilled at home.
