To change my name

There are several widely used shortened versions of my name. My parents disliked nickname A so I've always been known as nickname B, but I actually prefer A. My family, friends, colleagues all know me as B. I introduce myself as B. I'm about to start work somewhere new. WIBU to introduce myself as A? What if I don't like it? Think someone called Elizabeth wanting to be known as Lizzie rather than Liz.

Your name, go for it!

Topseyt · 20/02/2020 03:43

Your choice entirely. Go for it if you prefer the other shortening.

Do it - I had a shortened version of my name that was widely used as a child, and I used it in my first job but I don't use it at all now. My parents and family still use it sometimes but I won't even use it to sign a card to them!
