Drove into town today as part of my job. There was no parking outside the place I wanted to visit so i drove round the corner onto an NCP car park. Pulled into a bay and realised I only had my card with me ran up to the machine and it didn't take cards so I got back in the car and drove off... am I going to get a fine? Really worried about this now as there was cctv. I couldn't have been more than a few mins though. Thank you

Nope, you'll be fine. There is a ten minute grace period exactly for this kind of situation Smile

I think you’ll be fine as CCTV would show that you were literally only about two minutes in the car park and didn’t go off to do something else . It will show that you weren’t able to park.

Skagen · 19/02/2020 21:50

The grace period isn't applicable as its an NCP and not council owned car park.

You're all brilliant...thanks so much

Was it barriered? Did you have to put the ticket back into a machine to let yourself out? It wouldn’t have let you out if it wasn’t ok. You usually get at least 10mins.

@Skagen

The grace period is applicable as NCP is a member of the BPA, which requires its members to allow a ten minute grace period.

@Skagen

This is from the BPA code of practice Smile while no time period is specified, ten minutes is usually considered reasonable.
