Single parent, been away for a few days with the little delights, was on my hols so 2 glasses of wine a night. Back home now, its Wednesday, normally only have a few glasses of wine on weekends inc Thursday (!), but oh gawd do I fancy a glass of wine. Should I?

You could, but you’d probably feel tired and a bit shit until the next evening’s drinks... and so on and so on.

FuckingHateRats · 19/02/2020 19:51

It's not every day every week! Have a glass if you so desire.

BadCatDirtyCat · 19/02/2020 19:52

I would (if I wasn't pregnant), but Mumsnet would probably class me as an alcoholic so 🤷

PumpkinPie2016 · 19/02/2020 19:53

I pretty much have Blush I'm away on holiday so making the most of it.

I don't usually drink at all in term time and I'm.not having a lot but it's nice to be able to let your hair down.

Krazykitty · 19/02/2020 19:53

I would. It’s half term so theoretically still on holiday. Get back to normal next week Smile

RizzoFromGrease · 19/02/2020 19:55

Go for it OP Wine

Flightsoffancy · 19/02/2020 19:56

Ha ha, I'm a teacher and I always cave in and have a drink every night of half term! It's celebratory and cheering, even if I don't feel as perky the next day as I could. Cheers!

happymummy12345 · 19/02/2020 19:57

I have several drinks every evening so

WhiskersPete · 19/02/2020 19:58

Had the same predicament myself this evening OP. The wine won.

happymummy12345 · 19/02/2020 19:59

I have a high tolerances don't get drunk and don't get hangovers. (I'd have to drink a lot to get drunk or get a hangover).

NotYourHolidayDick · 19/02/2020 20:01

I drink every night whatever.

I cant even imagine asking this question!

marashino · 19/02/2020 20:01

Me too, I'm just enjoying a bottle of Wye Valley honey and ginger mead Grin In fact now I think about it, it's positively medicinal since I have a cold so maybe I will have to have one tomorrow too.

WinterCat · 19/02/2020 20:02

I barely drink these days (you’ve undoubtedly had more this week than I have in the last couple of years) but even I think you should. Wine

Flightsoffancy · 19/02/2020 20:03

@marashino I think you should. It is a service to the children, ultimately, so that you are well enough to return after half term.

WishIWasAStar · 19/02/2020 20:04

Wine bottoms up then chaps Grin

You'll soon get the brigade that state if you even sniff wine twice a week you're an alcoholic, so get that wine open before they turn up! WineGrin

PrincessHoneysuckle · 19/02/2020 20:05

I had 4 large g&t last night and if I had any left I'd be doing the same tonight.Enjoy!

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 19/02/2020 20:07

I am. I’m on my 2nd this evening already. Mumsnet thinks you’re an alcoholic if your yearly intake exceeds one small sherry on Xmas eve though.

marashino · 19/02/2020 20:07

That's tough. I suppose I do owe it to them though so if you insist then I'll reluctantly go and buy more.

ChasingRainbows19 · 19/02/2020 20:09

I only drink maybe once sometimes twice a week, couple glasses of wine or spirits. Maybe a a few more on bigger nights out.

However on holiday I do tend to drink more and most days eg glass of wine after sightseeing. Or visiting the pub as it's raining while in the lakes. It's a bit of a treat and part of the holiday I don't do it when on leave at home though.

Its not like you are drinking loads but you probably soon will be feeling the effects of it every day and will be ready for a break!

checkingforballoons · 19/02/2020 20:09

We’re away with our DS and I may have indulged in a couple of cocktails before heading back to our room Wink

Dandelion1993 · 19/02/2020 20:10

Do it!

OneForMeToo · 19/02/2020 20:12

You mean you haven’t started yet today? It’s half term so a holiday so go for it Wine
