Another parking one...would this annoy you? Diagram...

We live on a small no- through road. It's shaped like a lowercase t.

The last three houses, ours included have dedicated parking. The other houses can park on the unrestricted road outside their house. Sometimes this gets full and one of our neighbours (B) on the diagram, has taken to parking in the slightly wider area of the road behind our parking space (A), if the spaces are full further up the road (there are only houses on one side of the road the rest is fencing.

We either need to reverse in or out of our space, and this makes it impossible to do easily - it usually turns into a four or five point turn.

So, would this annoy you. The area is private land with rights of access for the three houses only, but equally having to reverse one way isn't a terrible thing...

Where else could they park? I don't think I'd be too bothered if there's no where else to park.

ffswhatnext · 18/02/2020 00:37

Reverse into the space so you just have to drive out. It's not like they are blocking you in.

GruciusMalfoy · 18/02/2020 00:52

They have to park somewhere, you can still get in and out, just not as quickly as you want.

safariboot · 18/02/2020 02:54

Hard to know without seeing the road to scale and everything. But are they parking in the area that's intended for turning round? If so, they shouldn't be.

OnlyLittleMissOrganised · 18/02/2020 05:20

The diagram is a little confusing. You could draw all the houses and allocated spaces. Then we would be better able to determine if YABU.

custardbear · 18/02/2020 05:50

Sounds like it's not blocking you, it's just making your access a little more difficult - I'd say it's perfectly ok to be honest

oldestchild90s · 18/02/2020 05:56

Would annoy me. People are idiots!

Jessie9323 · 18/02/2020 06:04

Wouldn't annoy me at all, as long as you can still get in and out of your space then i wouldn't have an issue.

lljkk · 18/02/2020 06:36

You're moaning about a 5 pt turn?

Didshereally · 18/02/2020 06:40

Your diagram makes it look like
a. They're blocking a space next to you and
b. You've easy access to reverse into your space.
So YABU
I suspect your diagram might need fixing if those aren't accurate

babybrain77 · 18/02/2020 06:45

Just reverse into your space?

Weffiepops · 18/02/2020 07:24

Having to do a four or five point turn rather than a 3 point turn???? Big deal!!!!

YABVU!

JudyCoolibar · 18/02/2020 07:35

If it's a legitimate parking space, you just have to accept it. If it wasn't your neighbour parking there, it would soon be someone else.

whiskeylullaby2 · 18/02/2020 07:43

Pretty hard to judge with that diagram. Looks like you have two spaces ? Maybe you could update your diagram to scale ?

JigsawsAreInPieces · 18/02/2020 07:47

As Mumsnet diagrams go, that one needs work. Grin

starfishmummy · 18/02/2020 12:49

Whose land is it? If its actually your land then yanbu otherwise just reverse in

10FrozenFingers · 18/02/2020 12:53

Park there yourself.

blondemerida · 19/02/2020 13:04

Ha thanks all - sorry about shit diagram!

I'll try and answer some questions. Land is owned by original developer, now bankrupt so the three houses with parking maintain it. There are no parking spaces, except our three dedicated spaces but there is parking further down the road next to his house, but it does get full up.

If his car isn't there I can drive straight in / reverse straight out. With the car there it has to be a multipoint turn because the road isn't wide enough to swing round into the turning circle.

I did unfortunately bump the car in a bin and which had blown over in the wind and was in my blind spot because of this, but I think that's just one of those things.

@blondemerida
How did it get resolved in the end? Or is it still ongoing?
Did you ever decide to redo your parking diagram 😂?
I think there should be a MN guide to/ecourse on parking diagrams 🤣🤣
