To be really worried now I’ve had the Mirena removed?

Went to a gynae clinic wanting advice on why it was causing my dh issues and for a general check up. I’ve had it 5 years and due to my age it could just be left. Originally, I got it due to extremely painful periods (after investigations showed nothing else going on). I’ve been given a progesterone only pill (Desorex), similar hormone, I think. AIBU to be really worried that I’ll end up with ridiculously painful periods again? I’m already dreading it and the coil came out an hour ago!

Unlikely, especially as you're going straight onto the oral form.

The side effect I did have was that the first POP I was prescribed caused constant light bleeding, but they switched me to a different one (saying 'this won't make any difference, but if you insist...') and it stopped immediately.

I’m already bleeding on/off, the doctor thinks that might be due to the coil possibly sitting too low and not delivering the hormone far up enough. I’m hoping the bleeding stops entirely!
