Having a disagreement with DH about this one.

We have a colleague who I'm fairly friendly with. She's had a rough start in life, but she's in her early 20s now and has a council flat with her boyfriend.

Colleague always talks about her and her BF smoking weed in the flat. They now have 2 cats in a top floor flat and throw frequent parties etc.

DH is half joking about reporting colleague to the LA for smoking drugs in the flat.

I'm absolutely against this, saying it's none of our business and to not get involved.

DH says they're exploiting the system and taking up valuable space that people who deserve the help should be taking up.

DH only knows because we were both in the car when I dropped colleague home on Friday night.

AIBU to keep out of it? I said that if one of their neighbours complains then so be it, but it's not our place and to mind our own business.

Who tells a colleague they smoke weed? Confused good job they don't drug test at your place - construction industry they do and I'm sure in other professions also.

MummySharn · 17/02/2020 15:47

No I wouldn’t report it

DelpheDaisy · 17/02/2020 15:50

Rspca would be more appropriate. Poor dcats.. Stuck in a flat and subjected to drugs..

Are you serious?!

DelpheDaisy · 17/02/2020 15:52

Rspca would be more appropriate. Poor dcats.. Stuck in a flat and subjected to drugs..

Indeed. And firing someone because they do drugs in their own time is fucked up. Maybe there should be an alcohol test too so if yougo out at the weekend and test positive on the Monday FIRED. Alcohol is a killer and it's normalised.

WinterCat · 17/02/2020 15:55

I don’t support weed but I wouldn’t report someone in the circumstances you’ve suggested. I’d also reconsider my relationship if someone was as you described your DH to be.

Nightflower · 17/02/2020 16:06

So if your DH passes by a house and smells weed he will report it to some authority? I don't see how it can concern him in any way that your friend smokes weed and hosts parties.
I hate the smell of weed and makes me sick, unless is a neighbour that smokes right under my window and won't understand not to do so...it's not my business.

Whynosnowyet · 17/02/2020 16:28

Second hand weed fumes can cause damage to pets. Cats can get high and can have breathing difficulties and lung irritation. Hardly the actions of a decent pet owner...
So yeah - I am serious...
Hard done to or not she should be taking better care of an innocent cat or 2..

DelpheDaisy · 17/02/2020 16:33

But you think cats shouldn't be in flats?

Whynosnowyet · 17/02/2020 16:45

I have had dcats on ground floor and top floor (as a dc). Presumably dcats can't escape the fumes and parties is what I was saying..

Rejected101 · 17/02/2020 16:49

Wouldn’t report .

Chillicheese123 · 17/02/2020 16:50

He sounds fun. Does he treat himself to a ribena on the weekends or is that pushing it too far?

Cheeserton · 17/02/2020 17:17

Who made him Judge Judy and executioner? What a knob.

PanicAndRun · 17/02/2020 17:42

Does she have kids?

CircleofWillis · 17/02/2020 20:33

"Judge Judy and executioner." I love it! 😂 was that a typo or deliberate?

VenusTiger · 17/02/2020 20:53

@DelpheDaisy if someone appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during work and they operate say, a crane or a plane, then of course they can get fired!

drinkygin · 18/02/2020 08:59

Are you serious? NO of course you shouldnt report them. Why the fuck don’t they deserve to be housed? Mind your own business you pair of weirdos Confused

Sparklfairy · 18/02/2020 09:03

Judge Judy and executioner

This is truly amazing Grin

DelpheDaisy · 18/02/2020 09:45

if someone appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during work and they operate say, a crane or a plane, then of course they can get fired!

But what if you aren't under the influence? They don't just fire people underthe influence do they, theu drug test you randonly in some places and if you are positive you're fired, some drugs stay detectable in urine for days/weeks.

CakeandCustard28 · 18/02/2020 09:49

It has nothing to do with your DH. Confused What a sad life you two lead! Get a life ffs!

Danni91 · 18/02/2020 10:01
