Jeans help!

Probably not the right place to post this but need help/advice please!

I am about a size 12/14, with a little potbelly (diet starts tomorrow) and I'm tall-ish. I find it so BLOODY DIFFICULT trying to find jeans that fit comfortably. If I get a size 12 they won't button up round the waist but a 14 is too baggy round the thighs, I just can't win!

Does anyone have any advice on where I can get good fitting jeans at a decent price? Really struggling with this, I currently live in leggings or tights!

Probably not what you're after but have you tried jeggings? They're pretty much all I wear now. I'm sort of an hourglass shape and I've never found jeans that fit well and are comfortable.

aprilshowers2015 · 16/02/2020 20:50

I was a 12/14 pre-pregnancy (bigger legs than waist) and I really liked River Island Molly Jeans. They're possibly more of a jegging as quite stretchy but look and feel like regular jeans.

VeryBowie · 16/02/2020 20:51

I do like jeggings and find them relatively comfy but I find them hard to find, the ones I find aren't stretchy enough Confused

Gap high rise true skinny are good (for hiding a muffin top!) and come in inch waist sizes rather than 12 or 14.

mummyof2boys30 · 16/02/2020 20:53

Tesco contour jeans is all I wear now, soft and stretchy

FleabagTeabag · 16/02/2020 20:59

I'm similar to you - in between sizes - and hands down the best jeans I've found are Next ones. The Waist Enhancer ones and the Lift, Slim & Shape ones. I've got both in multiple colours as they fit better than any others.

FleabagTeabag · 16/02/2020 21:00

Excellent cross post @BigusBumus

The next lift slim and shake ones work well for my thicker waist and lack off arse. They have a higher waist so sit more comfortably. It's the only jeans I wear at the moment.

VeryBowie · 16/02/2020 22:09

Thank you all loads Flowers will have a good look around and hopefully find some that fit!

I always struggle with jeans as pear shaped. Next lift and shape high waisted have been great recently slim legs not skinny. High waisted seem better for me. Top shop too surprisingly.

I got some J Brand jeans in the sale on ASOS. They’re still a bit pricey but they’re worth it. So comfortable

DimplesToadfoot · 17/02/2020 05:42

Sainsburys Tu are my go to Jean's supplier, 3 lengths and stretch in all the right places, the more expensive £28 -£30 jeans are the best and so comfortable I could sleep in them, but the cheaper ones aren't far behind. I wash and wear them, I don't think I'd buy a different brand now. I've never paid full price either, I wait for their 25% off which happens regularly :-)

Another vote for river island Molly jeans xx

BarbaraofSeville · 17/02/2020 09:56

Have you tried M&S? The £19.50 ones are good, but there's a good range and also some quite cheap if you're hoping to lose weight.

You just have to go and try loads on, unfortunately, because what's good for one person isn't necessarily best for someone else due to differing shape.

Poundland!!! I’ve spent a fortune on jeans before but now I only get them from there.

loobyloo1234 · 17/02/2020 09:58

'Jamie' jeans from Topshop are great for being fashionable but also hiding a multitude of sins Smile (I am a 12/14)

ThisIsBigMoon · 17/02/2020 09:59

I am a M&S convert after years of expensive jeans. They are so cheap they are worth trying! I find they last much better than any of the others I have tried too.

JaceLancs · 17/02/2020 10:02

D jeans from TKMaxx are very stretchy - lots of different shapes and styles
I’m currently loving the ‘eliminate muffin top!’ Ones
