... about the cheese on toast?

I'll in bed. Problem compounded by tiredness and husband having woken me twice last night by loud weird choking coughs, after which I couldn't get back to sleep. (He's not I'll. Not sure what coughing was about.) I was working yesterday and will be working the next five days. He's retired. So because I'm so shattered I retreated to bed this morning and said l didn't feel up to coming down for lunch. When he offered to bring me something, I asked for a toasted cheese sandwich. ( We have a machine for doing toasties.) After ten minutes he game back with a plate that had two very greasy slices of cheese on toast on it. No knife and fork or paper napkin, so not really possible to eat in bed. So do I leave the bastard?

I use cutlery for cheese and toast....

mrsBtheparker · 16/02/2020 14:58

I doubt he was having coughing fits in the night to deliberately keep you awake or piss you off.

And why are so sure he's not ill, only coughing to annoy you? At least you won't be bothered by any other food/drink he brings up to you, he'll probably tell you to get up and get your own!

Crockof · 16/02/2020 15:01

I use a cutlery and eat in bed, how else would you dip each piece of cheese and toast into salad cream.

Nat6999 · 16/02/2020 15:02

You are lucky you got it on a plate, at our house that would have been wrapped in kitchen roll to save ds washing up.

PineappleCocktail · 16/02/2020 15:03

Are you sure he doesn't have sleep apnoea OP?'

Course he doesn't. There's only room for one sick person in any household and in OPs house, it's OP. OP is Very Very Sick.

NotALurker2 · 16/02/2020 15:03

He was probably trying to make sure you got the maximum amount of crumbs in your sheets, so sleeping in would be impossible. Do you think there is another woman?

Sparklfairy · 16/02/2020 15:05

I see your Worcester sauce (and marmite)

And I raise you...

Hot sauce Grin

EnidBlyton · 16/02/2020 15:12

wipe your fingers onhis pillow op

NotALurker2 · 16/02/2020 15:13

@AngusDuck Apples to oranges. OP is not complaining about how he cut the cheese, but about how he served it.

EnidBlyton · 16/02/2020 15:13

i also use cutlery for cheese on toast, and have salad and mayonaise and worcester sauce and perhaps mustard
but a cheese toasty does not require a knife and fork

what was it?

EnidBlyton · 16/02/2020 15:15

i just hope there are tomatoes

Butterbeeeen · 16/02/2020 15:20

Put both sides together and voila cheese toastie

slipperywhensparticus · 16/02/2020 15:20

He was choking on spiders in the night now they have taken him over and are providing you with substandard cheese on toast in an effort to take over the planet one man at a time

Oblomov20 · 16/02/2020 15:20

I'll eat it if you don't! YABU

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 16/02/2020 15:23

I know you guys are arguing over Worcester sauce
No, no, no. Nope. It’s the one and only original Worcestershire Sauce made by Lea and Perrins. Worcester sauce is an horrific abomination made by Heinz. Unacceptable.

Tartyflette · 16/02/2020 15:27

Cheese on toast is not a toasted cheese sandwich. Law laid down.
(Mind you, I am at this moment contemplating a toasted cheese sandwich with kimchi in -- a recipe i made last night suggested this very use for the leftover kimchi in the jar...)

Twenty2 · 16/02/2020 15:31

I had cheese on toast for my lunch earlier

I find using mustard powder sprinkled on all melty cheesie things takes it from nice to fucking amazing Grin I also put it in my world famous legendary cheese scones.

Nat6999 · 16/02/2020 15:40

Henderson's relish on cheese on toast, Sheffield food of the God's

FriedFishFacial · 16/02/2020 15:42

Cheese on toast should be served with red wine vinegar

EnidBlyton · 16/02/2020 15:48

i had a cheese toasty for lunch, with mustard, red onions and cherry tomatoes. Delicious.

InkogKneeToe · 16/02/2020 15:56

Or did he pervert, corrupt and ruin it by putting other things on it such as those utter degenerates who pollute it with Worcestershire Sauce?

Literally salivating here

maddiemookins16mum · 16/02/2020 16:01

He should have provided a square of kitchen roll at least.

NurseButtercup · 16/02/2020 16:06

wipe your fingers on his pillow op

This ^ Grin

PrincessHoneysuckle · 16/02/2020 16:07

He was being out of order for not putting tomato sauce on it

MotherofTerriers · 16/02/2020 16:12
