To tell DH if he wants to drink he has to stay somewhere else?

DH has started to work with a friend who drinks a lot and has gone for a drink after work with him everyday for the past week (since starting the job) He has come home drunk every time, not quite vomitting down yourself drunk but unsteady on his feet and slurring drunk.

He has been kicked out of pubs for being too drunk twice this week.

He's just announced he's going out for lunch with this friend and I've told him if he's drinking he better ask friend if he can sleep on his sofa coz I'm not having him coming in drunk again because I don't want the kids seeing him like it. AIBU?

You are definitely not being unreasonable wanting the kids not to see him like that. It must be bad if he is getting kicked out of pubs! Has he just started drinking like this?

YANBU but what if he doesn't agree to it?

Has he always been a drinker or is this new?

This seems very odd behaviour to start suddenly?

Have you had eg 10 years of completely happy normal marriage and then suddenly, 6 days ago, he met this work colleague and has started drinking irresponsibly and been thrown out of two pubs?

What’s the backstory?

He's always liked a drink and this particular friend has always had this effect on him but they used to only see each other every couple of months until they started working together this week.

We've been together 15 years. Mostly happy but DD is having some issues and we are both very stressed which might explain some of it, he has also been unemployed for a while so its the first time in ages he's had money to spend.
