To stay indoors in this weather

Long story short:
Boyfriend works away, we've been together just under a year. He's been away 2 weeks of a 2 month rotation..i'm not the most social being but he's asked me to visit his parents whilst he's away as it'll mean a lot to him,
I tried to last weekend but floods everywhere.
I work in the week, and they live a 25 minute drive from me so usually i just want to get home and relax.
So last week, i said i'd hopefully see them this weekend. But i woke up and roads were closed near me so i text to say "typical weather's bad again, I'm off in the week so i can see you whenever youre free" and we've arrange Tuesday,
I messaged boyfriend about the weather and that i'll see his parents in the week and he's seen my message and ignored it, been active a few times since.

I know what boyfriend is like and he's going to think i'm actively avoiding seeing them but i cant help that the storms have decided to come on the weekends.
Roads have started slowly opening near me but i still dont fancy a drive through the wet conditions when I dont have to drive,

AIBU, should i have just gone?

Are his parents particularly old or infirm? Even then as long as they were in contact and you know they don’t need anything yanbu.

If he gets his arse in his hand over it tell him to get a grip.

Do his parents need specific help - shopping, medication etc? Have you been able to contact them and do they have neighbours to call on in an emergency?

If the roads are flooding it would be idiotic to go on a social call. If they needed you, it would be different.
