I've been hearing so many bad things about it lately and after drinking it, mainly in hot drinks, I'm thinking of giving it up.

Stories of pus in the milk has put me off. Plus the whole way the dairy industry is.

I need to find a decent alternative for coffee though as struggle taking it without milk.

I found this to be very interesting

(And vegan cheese is the devil, except Tyne Chease).

I'm another for oat milk, but I make my own and use it for cooking if needed.

@dwum have you tried applewood?

@bernardswatchplease I actually just had some for lunch in a wrap. It wasn't horrid...

Not sure what else I would do with it though. Will experiment to see if it melts

bernardswatchplease · 19/02/2020 14:32

@dwum it really does make a good cheese on toast, slightly lower heat than dairy cheese and a good crack of fresh black pepper. It's also the only vegan cheese I enjoy on a cracker. I tolerate violife slices for a ploughman's sandwich but applewood I actually enjoy!

Eggs are not dairy...

MCP86 · 19/02/2020 15:30

"Would you he dairy free if you lived in africa"....ermmm there are plenty of dairy free, gluten free and vegans in Africa.

Question (maybe because I didn't quite understand your question)...but why was the scenario you gave in Africa, and not a farm in England?
(I wouldnt say i know much about farming, cows, bulls...probably why I didn't get your question.

MCP86 · 19/02/2020 15:35

Me again....
@bernardswatchplease if you were ever stuck in Africa, you'd be able to find a nutritional substitute.
Hmmm...maybe that depends on where in Africa you are. With it being a massive continent, i cant speak for all countries Smile

I havent had milk in my tea or coffee since I was 14. Yes, we did drink tea and coffee as children.

So 40 years without. I don't eat cereal for breakfast. I make porridge with water.

The only dairy I knowingly consume is some nice cheese occasionally.

I eat meat thougg so am far from perfect.

Just saying that no one needs milk in tea or coffee. Get the good stuff and it tastes way better black.
