Really worried about storm Dennis

My house flooded last weekend, everything downstairs was ruined, my landlord has been working really hard to repair the damage so me and my 2 year old can move back in and he thinks it should be ready next weekend or the one after but now storm Dennis is here and I'm really worried it's going to flood again and I'll be back to square one
It has never flooded before it was just a freak event but it's really shook me. Everything was fine and 10 minutes later there was nearly 3ft of water at my front door.
How do I get over this anxiety everytime we have a storm?

Speak to your landlord and ask him what precautions there are and has he sandbagged the property.
I expect you will find he's already taken any necessary precautions as he won't want more work either.

I think you're expecting too much of yourself to be over it already. That was only one weekend and one storm ago. It will take time. All you can do is remind yourself that you and your child are safe, and houses can be fixed (and made more flood resistant).

I live next to a river which was inches away from flooding last weekend. I'll be on watch!
