What to do with my week off?

I have this week off work. Was planning on going on holiday with DD but the flights are all cancelled because of the weather. I can’t change my time off as I have to give at least 6 weeks notice, so what can I do this week? DC are 15 & 12 but they’re going to visit my ILs on Tuesday (I can’t go due to lack of space). Any suggestions?

Could you look at a city break later in the week? Flights should be fine by then or maybe a couple of day trips - uk city you’re not familiar with just pottering about - lunch, gallery, cinema, museum, show - whatever interests you.

In your position I would...

Replace the kitchen radiator, which should have been done about 18 months ago.
Finish painting my bedroom (spotted a few bits behind edges of wardrobes that I missed).
Tidy kitchen and daughter's bedroom.
Clear up autumn/winter detritus from garden.
Read at least two books.
Listen to lots of music.
Cook some nice meals.
Go out on a couple of nice long walks with camera (weather permitting) or go to nearby city to visit museum & art gallery.

Might not sound like a holiday, but I never get any time to myself and would love a week to do these things.

Paint a room. have a lovely fresh stylish room to show for it. Wouldn't take all week either, so cinema, shops, swim, any other classes you can find that you fancy.

Eurostar somewhere when the kids have gone , wandering round a city on your own , lovely.

Gp visit for bloods or trip to the dentist for a clean or a check up

Thanks for your suggestions. I’ve thought about it a bit and realised I actually have a lot of stuff to do. Was just upset at missing out on my sunny holiday this morning.
